Cambodia is a land with a harrowing modern history. The country is laden with a past of genocide, grievance, starvation, and extensive poverty, all within the last 35 years following the rule of the Khmer Rouge. Once culturally rich, Cambodia now struggles through its disturbing past, combined with corruption and an obsession of power.

After speaking to a woman whose mother, father and two sisters where murdered during the Pol Pot Regime, to witnessing children that were trafficked for sex at the age of 7, it hits home at how fortunate a life you have.

Restore One Charity works extensively throughout Cambodia to help improve the lives of locals. The charity has built a school in rural Kompong Thom Province which now educates around 200 children from neighbouring villages. A cafe in Phnom Penh educates staff, helping them gain skills in waitering, management and employment and sewing projects provide fair wages for women living in slums who produce beautiful hand-made bags and purses.
